Friendship Club

The Friendship Club is a group of blind and visually-impaired adults who meet once a month, usually on the third Thursday of the month, to have lunch and socialize. The club meets at the CNIB in Vancouver. Recent special events include a Tea Tasting Workshop and a Christmas Lunch.

Christmas Lunch

On December 17, 2009, the Friendship Club had a Christmas lunch at the CNIB. Festive Special combos were ordered and delivered from Swiss Chalet. Everyone enjoyed their chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, roll and Lindt chocolates. Another lunch is planned for the spring. We hope that more people will attend!

 Tea Tasting Workshop

On Thursday, April 16, 2009, The Friendship Club enjoyed an Herbal Tea Tasting Workshop led by Carmen Schanofski, a practicum student from the School of Instructor Education at Vancouver Community College. A turnout of fourteen men and ladies sampled dandelion, fennel, ginger, cinnamon and lemon balm teas brewed from fresh herbs and ingredients during the one-hour workshop. The participants also learned about the health benefits of each type of tea. Everyone agreed that the workshop was interesting and a unique experience.
